Matthew 3:13-17

13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan, to be baptized by him.14 But John tried to stop him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and yet you come to me?”

15 Jesus answered him, “Allow it for now, because this is the way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John allowed him to be baptized.

16 When Jesus was baptized, he went up immediately from the water. The heavens suddenly opened for him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased.”

Luke 4:16-21

16 He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. As usual, he entered the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read. 17 The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him, and unrolling the scroll, he found the place where it was written:

18 The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed, 19  to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.

20 He then rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. And the eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on him. 21 He began by saying to them, “Today as you listen, this Scripture has been fulfilled.”

1 Peter 4:7-11

7 The end of all things is near; therefore, be alert and sober-minded for prayer. 8 Above all, maintain constant love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Be hospitable to one another without complaining. 10 Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, let it be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, let it be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer TACOS

Thanksgiving: How does the Lord give you purpose each day? Thank Him for making life worth living.

Amazement: Jesus knew His purpose long before He came to the earth. Spend some time worshipping the Lord for the way He had planned for Jesus to save us long before it happened.

Confession: How have you done your own thing and followed your own path this week instead of what the Lord wants you to do? Confess that to Him now and ask Him for guidance each day on how to stay on the right path.

Others: Who is someone you know that is struggling with their purpose on this earth? Ask the Lord for opportunities to share with them the plan He has for their life.

Self: What is something you are unsure of in your life right now? Ask the Lord for guidance and wisdom as you strive to live for Him every day.
