Read and Discuss
1 Corinthians 11:17-22
17 Now in giving this instruction I do not praise you, since you come together not for the better but for the worse. 18 For to begin with, I hear that when you come together as a church there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it. 19 Indeed, it is necessary that there be factions among you, so that those who are approved may be recognized among you. 20 When you come together, then, it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper. 21 For at the meal, each one eats his own supper. So one person is hungry while another gets drunk! 22 Don’t you have homes in which to eat and drink? Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What should I say to you? Should I praise you? I do not praise you in this matter!

James 2:14-16
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but does not have works? Can such faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, stay warm, and be well fed,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it?
Acts 9:36
36 In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which is translated Dorcas). She was always doing good works and acts of charity.
Acts 10:3-4
3 About three in the afternoon he distinctly saw in a vision an angel of God who came in and said to him, “Cornelius.” 4 Staring at him in awe, he said, “What is it, Lord?”
The angel told him, “Your prayers and your acts of charity have ascended as a memorial offering before God.”

Prayer TACOS
Thanksgiving: How has the Lord helped you when you’ve been in need? Spend some time thanking Him for that?
Amazement: Worship the Lord for being the great provider.
Confession: When have you had the opportunity to help someone, but didn’t? Confess to those things and ask the Lord to forgive you.
Others: Who is someone you know is in need this season? Pray that the Lord would show you ways to help them that will honor God in the process.
Self: What are some things that bother you, or hang ups you may have, about helping the poor? Talk to the Lord about those things and ask Him to give you discernment when you help others, as well as a soft heart to those in need.
